Visa-Free Countries for Antigua and Barbuda Passport Holders: Full List

Which countries can you visit without a visa with an Antigua and Barbuda passport?

In 119 countries, travellers can enter without a visa and only need to present their Antigua and Barbuda passport at the border. In addition to visa-free destinations, citizens of Antigua and Barbuda can enter 33 countries with an eVisa, 9 — with a visa on arrival, and 10 countries with an electronic travel authorisation.

Visa-free

Citizens of Antigua and Barbuda travel visa-free to countries in South America and the Schengen Area, as well as the UK and other destinations. To cross the border, they only need to present their passport. Visa-free entry is available to 119 countries in total.

Each country determines the permitted period of visa-free stay independently. For example, it is 90 days within a 180-day period in Schengen Area countries and 360 days in Georgia.

With an eVisa

Citizens of Antigua and Barbuda obtain an eVisa for 33 countries, mainly in Asia and Africa. For example, India, Vietnam, and Ethiopia issue eVisas for 90 days.

Travellers apply for a visa on the official website of the immigration authority and also pay a visa fee, which usually ranges from $10 to 50.

Obtaining an eVisa is faster and cheaper than obtaining a regular visa. An Indian eVisa costs at least $10, and the permit is sent by email within 2—3 days. When applying through a consulate, the visa costs at least $39 and takes around a week to obtain.

A foreign national does not need to visit a consulate or visa centre in person. This is convenient if they live in a city without foreign diplomatic missions.

Each country determines the visa validity period independently. For example, an eVisa is valid for 120 days in Armenia and 15 days in Togo.

The eVisa is sent by email a few days after the application is submitted. The document can be saved on a phone or printed out to present at border control.

With a visa on arrival

Citizens of Antigua and Barbuda obtain a visa on arrival in 9 countries, including Türkiye and Madagascar. To avoid queues during the trip, travellers can apply for an eVisa in advance where this option is available, for example in Armenia and Sri Lanka.

A visa on arrival, or Visa on Arrival, is issued when crossing the border, most often at passport control at the airport. A foreign national usually needs to present their passport and pay a fee: for example, $30 in Nepal and $25 in Egypt.

Border control officers may also ask for return tickets, a hotel booking, or health insurance. Requirements are published on the website of the consulate or immigration authority of the destination country [1] Source: Maldives Immigration provides detailed instructions on obtaining a visa on arrival .

Most countries issue visas on arrival for 30 days, including Egypt and the Maldives. In the Comoros, a visa on arrival can be obtained for 45 days, while in Guinea-Bissau and Samoa it is issued for 90 days.

With an electronic travel authorisation

Electronic Travel Authorisation, or ETA, is a registration completed by a foreign national before travelling. It confirms their right to enter a country without a visa.

Citizens of Antigua and Barbuda travel with an electronic travel authorisation to 10 countries, including the UK, South Korea, Kenya, Seychelles, and Côte d’Ivoire. The UK issues an authorisation for 180 days, while the other countries issue one for 90 days.

The authorisation is obtained on the immigration authority’s website: applicants complete a form, upload a photo and passport scan, and pay a fee. Depending on the country, the fee ranges from $20 to 80. Applications are processed within several minutes to 2—3 days.

The approved document is sent by email. There is no need to print it out. It is enough to present an Antigua and Barbuda passport to a border control officer.

Popular and new visa-free destinations with an Antigua and Barbuda passport

Schengen Area countries allow citizens of Antigua and Barbuda to enter without a visa and stay for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

When crossing the border, travellers need to register in the Entry/Exit System, or EES. The system began to be introduced across European Union countries on October 12th, 2025 [2] Source: Some of the information can be submitted in advance via the official portal .

If a foreign national crosses the border for the first time after the launch of EES, border control officers take their photo and fingerprints and scan their passport. The data is uploaded to the system—on subsequent trips, it is enough to present the passport.

The UK requires an electronic travel authorisation. Travellers can stay in the country for up to 180 consecutive days and then must leave. An ETA is issued for two years and allows multiple entries, meaning that immediately after leaving, a foreign national can return to the UK for another 180 days.

Singapore and Hong Kong are popular Asian destinations that citizens of Antigua and Barbuda can visit without a visa. They can stay in Singapore for up to 30 days per trip and in Hong Kong for up to 90 days.

China has allowed citizens of Antigua and Barbuda to enter without a visa since the beginning of 2024. They can stay in the country for up to 30 consecutive days.

The UAE introduced a visa-free regime with Antigua and Barbuda in September 2025 [3] Source: Antigua.News article announcing the establishment of a visa-free regime with the UAE .

Information on the number of days travellers can stay in the country has not been published.

The US requires citizens of Antigua and Barbuda to obtain a B-1/B-2 visitor visa. However, since January 1st, 2026, the US has suspended the issuance of new B-1/B-2 visas to Antigua and Barbuda nationals, with limited exceptions. These include:

  • dual nationals travelling on a passport of a country not subject to the restrictions;
  • athletes, team staff, and their immediate family members travelling for the World Cup, Olympics, or other major sporting events.

Exceptions may also be granted on a case-by-case basis if the travel serves a US national interest. Visas that were valid before the restrictions took effect were not revoked. Applicants may still submit a visa application and attend an interview, but those subject to the restrictions may be ineligible for visa issuance or admission to the US.

Since January 21st, 2026, Antigua and Barbuda nationals have been subject to the US visa bond requirement. Under the rules effective from August 3rd, 2026, the bond is $10,000, $15,000, or $20,000, as determined by a consular officer [4] Source: The US Department of State sets visa bond amounts .

The bond is refunded if the traveller:

  • leaves the US within the authorised period,
  • does not use the visa before it expires,
  • is denied admission at the border. Travellers subject to the bond must enter and leave the US through commercial airports; land, sea, charter, and general aviation ports cannot be used.

The B-1/B-2 application fee is $185. For Antigua and Barbuda nationals, the current reciprocity schedule provides for a single-entry visa valid for three months. This is the visa validity period, not the permitted length of stay in the US.

There is no fixed visa processing time: appointment wait times depend on the embassy or consulate, location, season, and individual case.

How to travel with two passports

A dual citizen can use different passports depending on the destination. For example, a Nigerian citizen by birth who also holds an Antigua and Barbuda passport can use the Antigua and Barbuda passport for visa-free travel to the Schengen Area, while a Nigerian passport is used when entering and leaving Nigeria.

As a general rule, travellers should use the same passport to enter and leave a particular country. They should also follow local rules requiring citizens to use that country’s passport when crossing its border.

For example, a Nigerian citizen by birth with an Antigua and Barbuda passport travelling from Lagos to France can present their documents in the following order:

  1. At airline check-in in Lagos — both passports if requested. The Antigua and Barbuda passport confirms the right to enter France without a visa.
  2. At Nigerian border control on departure — Nigerian passport.
  3. At border control in France — Antigua and Barbuda passport.
  4. When leaving France — Antigua and Barbuda passport. At airline check-in, the traveller may also need to show the Nigerian passport as evidence of their right to enter Nigeria.
  5. At border control on arrival in Nigeria — Nigerian passport.

It is advisable to carry both passports throughout the journey. Airline staff may ask to see the second passport at check-in to verify the traveller’s right to enter the destination country. Without the appropriate document, the traveller may be denied boarding even if they hold another passport that allows them to cross the departure country’s border.

Why investors obtain an Antigua and Barbuda passport

Visa-free travel is not the only advantage of Antigua and Barbuda citizenship. Investors choose the country’s passport because of the relatively fast process, the ability to include family members in the application, and a favourable tax system.

Citizenship for the whole family

An investor can include a spouse, children aged 30 or younger, financially dependent parents over 55, and siblings in the citizenship application. There is no need to renounce the first citizenship, Antigua and Barbuda recognises multiple citizenship.

Tax optimisation

Antigua and Barbuda has no capital gains tax, inheritance tax, or tax on worldwide income. There is also no personal income tax, including for investors who purchase property and rent it out. To become a tax resident, one needs to live in Antigua and Barbuda for more than 183 days a year.

Fast passport process

Obtaining Antigua and Barbuda citizenship takes at least 8 months. There is no need to travel to the country or take citizenship exams.

Benefits at UK universities

Antigua and Barbuda is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. The country was formerly a British colony. This gives citizens of the Caribbean country additional privileges, including benefits when applying to UK universities. Students with Antigua and Barbuda citizenship can apply for scholarships and full tuition coverage.

Opportunity to invest in property

Purchasing property for at least $300,000 is one of the options for obtaining Antigua and Barbuda citizenship. However, investors cannot purchase any property on the open market: the property must be part of a government-approved development project.

The property can be rented out and may generate rental income. However, returns depend on the particular project, its occupancy, management costs, and market conditions, so rental yield is not guaranteed.

The $300,000 investment is not the investor’s only expense. Applicants also pay government processing, due diligence, passport, and other applicable fees. In addition, purchasing real estate can make the citizenship process longer because the transaction must be completed in accordance with the Citizenship by Investment Unit’s requirements.

Investors cannot sell the property for at least 5 years after the purchase. After this period, they may sell it, but the resale price depends on market demand, so recovering the full amount invested is not guaranteed.

The government plans to increase the stay requirement to a total of 30 days for the whole family [6] Source: The Observer reports on the government’s plans to change the residency requirements .

Obtaining a passport takes at least 8. Documents are submitted remotely. The investor and family members over 16 attend an online interview, during which a Citizenship by Investment Unit officer verifies their background information and interest in obtaining a passport.
